Previdente is pleased to inform you that it has acquired a laser apparatus for performing dental whitening and lasertherapy (main or supplemental treatment of various illnesses). These treatments can be performed at both the Ferreiras and Vilamoura clinics. These measures seek to increase the range of services available at the clinic and they contribute to the Quality certification process (ISO 9001) currently underway at Previdente.

Are there counter-indications to whitening? Anyone can have his/her teeth whitened, providing the teeth are healthy and not heavily restored (restorations do not whiten) and he/she is more than 10 years of age. What happens to a whitened tooth? The dental structure of the whitened tooth is not altered in any way. Are there any counter-indications to laser treatments? No, even more sensitive patients (pregnant women, diabetics, heart patients) can receive such treatment. What precautions should be taken after whitening? 1. Follow your dentist’s instructions. 2. During the 48 hours that follow the treatment you should not smoke or eat foods rich in pigmentation (beats, coffee, tea, Coca-Cola, etc.). 3. Using gel and toothpaste for sensitive teeth may help alleviate discomfort (Elgydium for sensitive teeth and Sensigel).
